We are perhaps best known for our partnership with Camp Ondessonk, located in the Shawnee National Forest, which offers a variety of camp and program opportunities to youth. Touch A Truck Provides Great Outreach

September 21, 2024 – K & L was a sponsor and participant in the 10th annual Touch A Truck, organized by Edwardsville Township. Held at the Township Community Park, also known as “Airplane Park”, the event attracted hundreds of kids. K & L's Lisa Pontious, Mason Hoffman, and John Goldsmith handed out coloring books and construction helmets. Our friends at Vermeer Midwest provided us with a mini-excavator for our booth. Although it was an unseasonably warm day, the kids had a great time making memories. If you would like Korte & Luitjohan Contractors, Inc. to participate in your Touch A Truck, please contact John Goldsmith, the marketing guy, at johngoldsmith@korteluitjohan.com

Supporting The Arts

September 21, 2024 – One day a year the downtown streets of Highland, Illinois become a canvas for area artists. K & L again this year was a sponsor of one of the artists in the Highland Chamber of Commerce’s Street Art Festival. Catie Whitworth, daughter of K & L Vice President John Whitworth, spent almost six hours creating her chalk art image. Catie said her entry was inspired by the artist Marisol Muro. “Muro makes these wonderfully groovy and vintage inspired prints. Her art makes me happy, and I wanted to share those happy bright colors with others.” K & L was proud to sponsor Catie in the festival and we’re impressed by her talent and creativity!

K & L Recruits Construction Talent of Tomorrow

September 18, 2024 – K & L participated in the annual Construction Networking Night at SIUE. This special evening allows students in the construction program to meet and mingle with those in the industry. Students bring their resumes in hopes of finding internship or employment opportunities. Representing K & L were Lisa Pontious, Director of Pre-construction, and John Goldsmith, the marketing guy. Both agreed that they met some outstanding young people who are the future of construction. “An internship allows a student to get a real life feel of our industry,” Goldsmith said. “Our goal is to see our interns transition into full-time members of our team.”
