Valentine’s Day is a day set aside to celebrate romantic love, and also a day to spotlight those who dedicate their lives to share love, comfort, and humanity to our most vulnerable citizens.   One organization that represents the heart of our community is Caritas Family Solutions.

Caritas provides social services that meet the social and emotional needs of people from all backgrounds throughout Southern Illinois.  From crisis pregnancy help and adoption services, to foster care, assistance for the elderly, and every stage of life in between, Caritas is making a difference in lives.

Founded in 1947, Caritas has constantly grown and expanded their services.  When additional office space was needed in their headquarters located in the KilMar medical office building at 8601 West Main Street in Belleville, Illinois, Caritas chose Korte & Luitjohan to manage the renovations.

Those from the area are likely to be familiar with the building, as it has been a part of the community for many years as a center for pediatric care.  Project manager, Steve Koch, recalls being taken to the building as a child where he rode on an elevator for the first time in his life.

Korte & Luitjohan is honored to have managed the renovation and proud to have completed the project under budget.

Renovations included:

• Partitions to create two new offices
• Patching and painting of all existing walls
• New carpet in the conference room
• New vinyl flooring in corridors and breakroom
• Modifications to existing power, data, and lighting
• New plastic laminate wall and base cabinets in the breakroom
