O’Fallon Public Library retained Korte & Luitjohan Contractors, Inc., as the General Contractor for their 18,000 square foot building renovation project. This major renovation redesigned existing space to create a more modern and efficient layout. Improvements included relocation and consolidation of staff offices, the addition of a Teen Center and a sound absorbing children’s area, expansion of outdoor reading areas, and the creation of a “vending café or marketplace style” display area with convenient seating. Glass walls and shorter shelving units provide increased visibility and security.
Work included replacing exterior wood window frames with aluminum, landscaping, extensive carpentry, casework, flooring, paint, mechanical improvements, plumbing, fire protection, and the relocation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
All work was done in phases which allowed the library to remain open during renovations.
