In May of 2013, The Illinois Capitol Development Board hired Korte & Luitjohan Contractors, Inc. as the coordinating prime contractor for the renovation of the Illinois Supreme Court Building.  Korte & Luitjohan coordinated the work of more than twenty subcontractors and 5 prime contractors to preserve and restore the beauty of this historic building.

The specifics of this project include the renovation of offices, storage and work areas; historic preservation of public spaces, courtrooms, library and support spaces for the Court; addition of new restrooms in the basement and second floor; renovation of existing restrooms throughout the building; removal and replacement of the existing HVAC/electrical/plumbing and Life Safety systems; updates and expansion to the security and surveillance systems; replacement of the existing exterior windows with protective glazing; structural modifications on the floors and roof and security and circulation improvements to the east parking traffic.
